Do you have a love-hate relationship with Instagram?
It seems like everyone’s relationship with it is permanently on ‘complicated’. I hear you! And I’m here for you.
Should you post once a day or three? And how many hashtags should we really use?
Just remember, at the end of the day, Instagram is JUST another app. Don’t let numbers rule your life (especially the one above ‘followers’).
It’s a great platform to show your beautiful work, connect with *your* people, and have fun!
But… How does instagram actually work? It’s called *social* media, so what really helps is… being social!
Connect with people you think are interesting and need what you can give, comment, share, send direct messages and like like like.
Imagine being at a party and meeting new people. How do you treat them? How do you react when they approach you? That’s exactly how I try to treat everyone on social media.
(🤫 We all know I’m slow AF when replying to DMs 🥴 so I don’t know what that means when it comes to meeting me on a party 😂.)
Share content that your audience and followers want to see, share content that helps them, inspires them, adds something to their life. And most of all:
BE CONSISTENT.
Being consistent is key, not only on social media but in life, but especially on Social Media. Keep going whenever you feel like quitting, and you’ll see change soon.
BUT! Social Media is not a magic pill. It’s not an easy or quick fix. Yes, it’s a free marketing tool, it’s fun, but it’s work, it needs consistency and using social media for your business takes time.
It will increase your customers/clients over time and bring you more sales, but you have to show up consistently for them and have to give, give, give. Some may see results immediately, most will not. However, if you love serving people as much as I do, you’ll enjoy the process a lot!
I'm going to share with you the 5 apps that will improve your insta-game. They make planning content so much easier for me and have turned social media into something easy and fun instead of the overwhelming and busy part it used to be.
Why? Because I love serving you. And as a big thank you you for hanging out with me in here.
As a solo-preneur, I do suffer from the 'I-can-do-this-myself' affliction, and I admit, it's a bit of a curse, but these apps have been nothing short of a blessing.

APP #1: CANVA
Canva Pro is an all-in-one design platform that allows users to create almost anything: from business cards, social media posts to presentations, flyers, the cover of your newest instagram reel and more! The Canva platform has thousands of beautiful layouts to choose from and Canva Pro allows you to design anything, anywhere, resize, create gifs, remove backgrounds … it’s like a fun and easy playground for creatives!
Canva Pro’s focus are small to medium business and creative professionals and bloggers, and as soon as you open their app or desktop version, you can feel it. It’s such a happy place for me.
APP #2: PLANOLY
We all know how hard it can be to keep up with social media, but Planoly makes your workflow much easier. Use it to plan, schedule, and organise your social media content (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest) all in one place.
APP #3: LIGHTROOM MOBILE
Most of you know I used to be a wedding photographer for many years and am still working for stock photography (getty images) these days, so I’ve spent hours and hours (years!) with lightroom and photoshop.
I have NO IDEA what took me so long to download the lightroom app though. It is by far the most intuitive photo-editing app I’ve ever used. If you have experience with Lightroom or Photoshop, this app will make a lot of sense.
But even so, it is user-friendly and FREE.
I just launched my newest Lightroom preset pack! Volume 1 features rich colours and natural vibrance, inspired by Ireland and West Cork.
My presets are super versatile and work beautifully on landscapes, travel, lifestyle, interior and more.
Included in this collection:
* 10 Lightroom Mobile Presets (dng)
* 10 Lightroom Desktop Presets (xmp)
* Step-by-Step Install Guide (pdf)
-> Instant Download
All of my presets are handmade from scratch and designed with YOU, the creative, in mind. I wanted to create a set of presets that are versatile on both indoor + outdoor photos and work consistently all types of photography.
If filters or presets are not cutting it for you, you can manually change the lighting, colours, effects etc in this amazing app.
APP #4: VSCO
Before Lightroom mobile, I was using VSCO. They have a great range of filters and you’ve probably heard of it in the past few years.
APP #5: SOS (Selling On Social) / Jasmine Star
My favourite business tool may surprise you. I’ll give you a hint: it takes the guesswork out of marketing my business on social media and it helps me write captions in less than 5 minutes.
Being an alumni of Jasmine Star’s Social Curator & SOS, I can’t thank Jasmine and her team enough.
They’ve turned my ‘I love social media and people, but I don’t have a clue what I’m doing and why it works’ into ‘I know exactly what I’m doing’.
Jasmine also keeps me up to date with changes of the algorithm, what it means for businesses and how to adapt quickly.
